Excellent shot. The tones contrasting with the little burts of colour work so well. The reflection in the water is wonderful

I also like the tones in this shot. Perhaps the red could be a little brighter...Less busy than the blackbird shot you submitted the other day.

Well, I just really like trees, so this shot gets an A+ from me.

significantly less busy, i like the occasional busy quality to switch myself up. i was trying to get closer for the bird in the blackbird one, but it flew away. pushing the reds brighter started to display saturation dots i think.

my style is usually pretty simplistic, and I've been taught that "less is more." I do agree that busieness in a photograph works in some photographs, but not all.
Sometimes brightening up colors does not achieve the intended result, which is sometimes disappointing. When this happends, I think the photograph is beautiful just the way it is and needs nothing more. Muted colors add a certain calmness in a photograph, and most photographers have a hard time (in my opinion) with choosing the right film or digital manipulation to carry out a successful calmness in their work. You seem to do this very well and I enjoy looking at your work because of that reason.
